High-Lights 2026

Summer holidays: Light moves – emotions without words

20 July 2026 - 22 July 2026 | 14:00 - 17:00 hours | ZFIL | free of charge

What moods does a certain light evoke? How do colours change feelings?
In this three-day workshop, children aged 10–14 immerse themselves in the fascinating world of light, colours and shapes. They will discover exciting light installations in the museum and experiment with LED lights, coloured foils and projections. Using movement, their own bodies and creative ideas, they will explore how light can reveal, intensify or transform feelings.

The workshop is sponsored by Kulturrucksack NRW and is therefore free of charge.

The workshop is fully booked.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS: In the Light of Freedom

10 August 2026 - 12 August 2026 | 11:00 - 14:00 hours | ZFIL | free of charge

In this workshop, organised in collaboration with the EINEARTHAUS e.V. initiative, children and young people aged 10 to 14 will explore the themes of freedom, solidarity and participation in a creative way.
Together, they will gather ideas and design large frames using paper-cutting techniques to give visual expression to their personal thoughts and perspectives. The resulting images, words and ideas will then be used to create an exhibition that showcases the perspectives of young people in the Lindenviertel creative quarter and brings them to life for the public.

The project is part of the “Kreativ.Quartiere Ruhr” programme. It is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and implemented by the Ruhr Regional Association.

Workshop: What to, what not to?! – Augmented Reality and Art

12 September 2026 | 10:00 - 17:00 hours | ZFIL | 35,00 €

How does our perception change when analogue and digital art merge?

In this workshop, we invite tech-savvy individuals and art enthusiasts aged 18 and over to discover our temporary exhibition “Light Dialogs” in a unique way. The focus shifts to five works by Maurizio Nannucci, which are on display as part of the exhibition. Drawing on his poetic text-based works, we will explore the questions: What do we hear, feel, see, love and say – and what do we not? These reflections will serve as a starting point for our own creative exploration.
In the first part of the workshop, participants will create individual analogue designs on paper using a variety of materials. They will then learn about the possibilities of augmented reality (AR) and receive a practical introduction to the Canva and HoloLink programmes. Using their newly acquired knowledge, they will expand their own ideas and Nannucci’s works to include digital layers, thereby creating an exciting connection between art, creativity and new technology.

Please bring your own smartphone. The workshop is organised in cooperation with the Department of Culture & Continuing Education of Unna.
